“Tales of the Tribunal” Podcast Episode
Everyone has a tale to tell. Dorothee Schramm told hers to Chris Campbell for his podcast Tales of the Tribunal (Season 6 – Episode 4). Amongst other things, she talks about the most efficient way to resolve disputes, the evolving role of arbitrators, tech and tribunal secretaries, champions and mentors, and some less known personal facts. Launch of World's First Tribunal Secretary Platform
Dorothee Schramm has initiated and led a project that has built the world’s first Tribunal Secretary Platform. The Platform, launched on 26 March 2024, helps arbitrators find tribunal secretaries for case-by-case collaboration and offers various resources to both arbitrators and tribunal secretaries free of charge. The non-profit platform is jointly powered by the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) and Jus Connect, and supported by senior practitioners and professional organisations worldwide. Election as Vice-President and Board Member of the SVAMC
Dorothee Schramm has been elected Vice-President and Board member of the Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center (SVAMC) as from 1 January 2024, in addition to being included in the SVAMC’s List of the World’s Leading Technology Neutrals (the Tech List®). In her new role, she will contribute to the SVAMC’s mission of bridging the global technology sector and the ADR community.
The SVAMC is a non-profit foundation that helps advance the use of arbitration and mediation in technology-related business disputes around the world. Despite common belief, it is neither an arbitral institution nor a local organisation in Silicon Valley. Its recent Guidelines on the Use of AI in International Arbitration can be found here.
Recognitions by CIArb
Dorothee Schramm has been recognized by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) as a Fellow (FCIArb via the Experienced Practitioner Route) as well as a member of the Faculty for the CIArb Virtual Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration led by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab. The course took place across 4 weeks starting 3 May 2024.
DIAC Panel of Arbitrators
Dorothee Schramm has been included on the list of arbitrators of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC). After handling numerous cases in or relating to the Middle East, she is happy to continue accepting appointments under the DIAC Rules as an independent arbitrator.
Austrian Spring Arbitration Academy (Vienna, 6-8 May 2025)
Dorothee Schramm will be contributing to a session on “Evidence” at the Austrian Arbitration Academy – Arbitration Rules in Practice 2025, which takes place in Vienna from 6-8 May 2025. The Austrian Arbitration Academy is organized by the University of Vienna in cooperation with the Summer School of the University of Vienna, ArbAut und YAAP. More details will follow here.
